All my brain space has been taken up by our coming-up-fast big move (to Tasmania), so this year's Easter activities have been on the back burner. Thankfully, Ivy found this cute book at the library—it’s managed to kick-start us into our usual Easter fun mode.

We’re Going on an Egg Hunt is the story of 4 bunny friends that set out on an egg-hunting adventure (think We’re Going On A Bear Hunt):

We’re going on an egg hunt.
We’re going to find them all.
We’re really excited…
HOORAY for Easter Day!

Oh, no – BEES!
Can’t go over them.
Can’t go under them.
Can’t go around them.
Got to go through them…
Buzz! Buzz! Buzz!

The story is simple but fun, and Ivy LOVES lifting the flap to search for the eggs. But watch out—there is a wolf about! Here's some of the fun We’re Going on an Egg Hunt has inspired in our house:

We’ve used Q-tips to decorate our own ‘eggs’ a-la Clare's Little Tots—Ivy wants to hide these to make a never-ending egg-hunt game.

We’ve made some chicken egg holders like Red Ted Art—we used craft feathers for ours.

We plan on attempting some of Frugal Coupon Living's beautiful egg-tying techniques to fill the egg holders.

And a simple paper egg wreath a-la The Resourceful Mama will hopefully make it to our front door before Easter day.

I can definitely vouch for the lift-the-flap book, and the activity book looks great—it's less than $10 on Book Depository with free postage! Both are obviously good for Easter but also beyond.
