Learning to navigate the pressures of life and discovering who they want to become is something that all children have to face, and it can be tough. Here at Where The Books Are we are firm believes in the power of books to build up understanding over time, providing kids the opportunity to experiance choices and make sense of the world in a safe environment.

We also believe it is essential that kids are told important truths upfront with no room for confusion. Being You is Enough: and other important stuff by Josh Langley is this kind of book, and we love it!

It’s full of all the important stuff kids should know like:

It’s Ok to be different.

To look different.

And to do different things.

So don’t be afraid to be you.

and

Even cool kids have to poo.

We all feel awkward at times.

No-one is perfect. Not even teachers!

You are beautiful just the way you are.

Kids (and adults) need to be reminded of these things again and again, and a book is a great way to do it without sounding like you are repeating yourself.

Being You is Enough provides a safe starting point discuss these ideas with children, as well any concerns or experiences that have been weighing on them.

The illustrations are wonderful - cute and expressive without being ‘perfect’ - supporting the over all message of being ‘enough’.

Being You is Enough: and other important stuff is a wonderfully empowering book for 2 to 8 year olds.

You might also like Josh Langleys companion book It’d OK To Feel The Way You Do: otherwise you wouldn’t be you! which is also brilliant. Both would make a wonderful gift.
